Via MINNEAPOLIS (AP): According to Monday’s statement from the Medina Police:
“Police said they received a call from the woman in the early morning hours on Sunday saying that Cunningham had violated a protection order by contacting her. ‘When the officer arrived and reviewed the messages, they were direct and rose to a terroristic level,’ the police statement read. Cunningham surrendered Sunday and turned over his cellphone and computer as part of the investigation. The Associated Press left a message with Cunningham’s attorney seeking comment.”

On Friday, April 4th, Timberwolves forward Dante Cunningham, was arrested by the Medina Police and charged with Felony Domestic Assault.
Just two days later, on Sunday afternoon, Cunningham was arrested again today for allegedly making terrorist threats.
Cunningham is currently being held without bail in the Hennepin County jail. No additional information is available at this time but the police department stated it would issue a press release on Monday morning.
According to the Star Tribune:
Jail records show Cunningham was booked at 12:24 p.m. Sunday, a day before he was expected to appear in court in response to last week’s domestic assault charge. In that case, he is accused to trying to strangle a woman in his Medina home.
According to the complaint, the woman told authorities that the two have been living together for eight months, but having problems lately, including an argument about 3:30 a.m. Thursday after which Cunningham left in anger and she then locked the bedroom door.
A short time later, the complaint stated, Cunningham returned, kicked in the bedroom door, slammed her against the wall and choked her for about 15 to 20 seconds before letting her go and leaving the home.
After he was arrested and the domestic assault charge was filed, Cunningham was released from jail Friday night. He posted $40,000 bail and was ordered not to have any contact with the alleged victim.
The Timberwolves made the following statement:
“The situation with Dante Cunningham is very fluid and we continue to monitor all available information. We reiterate that the Minnesota Timberwolves do not condone the behavior described in the accusations. We continue to wait for the legal process to run its course and will have further comment when appropriate.”
